Former New York City Mayor Eric Adams is once again speaking out against the direction of the city’s leadership, arguing that progressive policies have left New Yorkers facing higher costs, public safety concerns, and growing frustration.

During a television interview, Adams criticized recent comments from New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani regarding Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s potential visit to the United Nations, saying local officials do not have the legal authority to take such actions. Adams warned that political rhetoric on international issues should be handled carefully, especially when it could affect America’s relationships abroad.

He also accused some progressive leaders of applying what he described as “selective morality,” arguing that they are quick to criticize democratic allies while remaining largely silent about human rights abuses committed by authoritarian regimes.

Adams also pushed back against recent praise Hunter Biden offered for New York City’s progressive leadership. While some have argued the city is moving in the right direction, Adams said everyday residents continue to deal with rising housing costs, homelessness, and public safety challenges that cannot be ignored.

Supporters of President Trump’s America First agenda have pointed to Adams’ remarks as another example of growing dissatisfaction with progressive policies in major cities.
